309,169. Soc. Anon. d'Ougree-Marihaye. April 7, 1928, [Convention date]. Catalytic apparatus for gas reactions and particularly for ammonia, oxidation comprises a heat exchanger containing tubes 3 through which the reaction gas passes, a distributor 7 serving to direct the gas on to the catalyst gauze 8, and a settling chamber 9 for the recovery of any catalyst carried away by the gases. A suitable proportion of the effluent gas is directed through the jacket 5 of the heat-exchanger.
