Abstract

307,525. Wilderman, M. Nov. 10, 1927. Fluid-pressure presses. - The supply and discharge passages of a filter-press are formed by apertures in the frames which are in line when the frames are placed in position. To make the passages liquid-tight, the apertures k in alternate frames are made, of different diameters, as shown in Fig. 8, and short rubber tubes r<1> are inserted in the larger apertures. The rubber tubes are pressed outward by the liquid. Their outer surface is formed of soft rubber with projecting circular ribs and there is an inner layer of harder rubber adapted to resist chemical action.
