Abstract
307,263. Murray, L. F., Parkes, J. S., and Howard, A. Aug. 10, 1928. Invalids' tables or desks.-An invalid's tray or table for attachment to bedposts and the like consists of a single piece 6, Fig. 1, of rod bent downwards at one end to enter a socket 4 clamped to the bedpost &c., and formed at the other end with means, such as those shown in Fig. 3, to secure to it a trav 7. To the underside of the tray is secured a hinge 8 and a spring clip 9, the clip being adapted to be engaged with a part 10 on the arm 6 so as to secure the tray in a horizontal position, or to be freed from it to enable the tray to be moved into a vertical position. The clamp 1, Fig. 1, consists of a single strip of metal, the folds of which are secured together by screws 3, or by a single belt and butterfly net. A similar device may be used, instead of that shown in Fig. 3, for securing the tray to the end of the rod 6.
