Abstract
306,616. Todd Oil Burners, Ltd., and Clark, E. Nov. 28, 1927. Spray burners. Liquid fuel supplied under high pressure through an inlet b, the annular space between concentric tubes f,l and tangential channels g to a vortex chamber p is atomized by discharge through a central orifice in a plate e which is secured to the tube f by a nut h. Alternatively, liquid fuel under low pressure may be supplied to the chamber p through an inlet c and the tube f for atomization by tangential streams of compressed air or steam supplied through the inlet b. The hole s through which the tube f communicates with the chamber p is controlled by an adjustable needle valve t.
