306,223. Baker, G. April 26, 1928. Jib cranes.-In a level luffing crane, a compensating lever R carrying a guide sheave Q for the load rope is pivoted at a point R<0> which is lower than the jib pivot C, and the lever is moved during luffing by a link D<1> which is pivoted to the tail of the jib D‹ and to the lever at an offset point D. The jib is luffed by a crank and connecting rod F, H. The load rope may pass from the sheave Q direct to the winding drum K or over guide pulleys.
