Abstract

305,987. Telefunken Ges. f³r Drahtlose Telegraphie. Feb. 13, 1928, [Convention date]. Fading, preventing. - Several spaced aerials A1, A2, A3 are coupled through amplifiers V1, V2, V3 to rectifiers g1, g2, g3 supplying corresponding grid-biassing voltage to valves R1, R2, R3 branched in parallel across a common alternatir.g-current circuit K fed from a source H generating a frequency in the neighbourhood of 5000 cycles per second. Energy received on any one or more of the aerials reduces the resistance of the corresponding valve R1, R2 or R3, and so increases the value of the alternating current flowing through a resistance w which is coupled to the final receiver J. The value of the resistance w is made high relatively to that of the shunt valves so that it operates as a limiting device, the receiver being operated by substantially equal currents no matter how many of the aerials are excited. The arrangement is particularly suitable for short-wave morse or picture signalling.
