Jan. 7, 1928., Atmospheric gas burners. - In a gas-fire or like burner in which a mixing-tube 13 communicates at its outlet 21 with one end of a mixing- chamber 12 having a row of nozzles 14, part of the gaseous mixture is withdrawn from the chamber 12 through an inclined passage 22 and re-circulated through the tube 13. In the form shown, the burner comprises two main parts 10, 11 secured together as by means of flanges or lugs 15, 16. Wipe gauzes or perforated metal plates 19, 20 are supported on a ledge 18 and clamped between the parts 10, 11 respectively. The chamber 12 is of rectangular cross-section. The burner may be made of earthenware, metal castings or from iron, steel, aluminium or other sheet metal parts. The respective parts of the chamber 12 and the tube 13 may be separated from one another, the passage 22 being constituted by a separate tube. In a modification, the burner is provided with two oppositely-arranged tubes 13 leading to separate chambers 12 supplying the nozzles adjacent the ends of the burner and the intermediate nozzles respectively.
