Abstract

305,306. Macintosh & Co., Ltd., C., and Campbell, J. D. Nov. 19, 1927. Stationary - cutter machines; guillotine machines. -In a machine for cutting longitudinally and transversely a web of rubber or material treated with rubber in which the pieces are not completely severed, the web is fed by a conveyer 2 over a bed roll 6 co-operating with slitting discs 10. The discs are mounted on antifriction bearings on shafts vertically adjustable by wedges in holders 23 transversely adjustable on a beam 11. The workpiece is carried by a conveyer 13, moved intermittently by a pawl mechanism 38, beneath a transverse cutter 17 vertically reciprocated in guides 19 by a cam mechanism 35. The cutter 17 co-operates with a bar round which the conveyer 13 is guided by pulleys 14. The parts are driven from an electromotor 9 through appropriate gearing, and the cutters are adjusted so that the pieces are not competely severed.
