Ventilators; valve apparatus.-The supply of fresh air to strong rooms is controlled by a valve or like device which is automatically opened and closed by the opening and closing movements of the strong room door. In the construction shown in Fig. 1 a plug valve a is disposed in the fresh air supply duct b beneath the door c and is carried by the hinge pin d of the door. An alternative arrangement shown in sectional plan in Fig. 8 consists in the provision in the supply duct b of a small auxiliary door e carried by the hinge, pin d of the main door. Bolts f engage slots g in the door e when the latter is closed by means of a bell-crank lever h which is operated by the closing movements of the bolts c<1> of the main door. A spring i<1> withdraws the bolts f when the bolts c<1> are released.
