Varnishes. - Lacquers or enamels for wood, metal, &c. comprise a lacquer having a cellulose derivative base to which is added a plasticized glycerol-phthalic resin in the partially condensed or soluble form. For example, a satisfactory product is obtained by the addition of 5 per cent of the resin plasticized with oleic acid, to a. cellulose nitrate lacquer.
