Absorbing moisture by bibulous materials.-In order to improve the keeping properties of baking powder and other powders adapted to produce carbon dioxide in food &c. a dry anhydrous neutral alkaline earth pyrophosphate, such as neutral calcium pyrophosphate, is mixed with the gas-forming substances.
