Abstract

302,745. Barber, T. W. Sept. 30, 1927. Mixing fluids in flow.- Apparatus for mixing gases, liquids, or gases and liquids, both supplied under external control, consists in means for spraying one fluid through orifices which are controlled by a plunger or sliding sleeve under the direct control of the flow of the fluid, whereby it is always supplied in a finely divided state. As shown, the fluid (a) is fed to a cylindrical member B provided with a plunger D which controls orifices C leading to a chamber A into which the other fluid (b) is supplied. The plunger is returned by a spring F, or weight, and is made in two parts D, D<1> to facilitate cleaning the orifices without removing the plunger bodily.
