301,818. Coquille, E. H. Dec. 6, 1927, [Convention date]. Addition to 288,942. Luggage and like holders. - The luggage and like holder for motor vehicles described in the parent Specification is modified in that the pivoting members 1, including the rear panel, the spare wheel-support and splash guard, instead of being hinged on an axle carried by two brackets on the vehicle frame are hinged to an axle directly connected to the longitudinal members 2 of the vehicle frame, which are extended for this purpose at the rear of the vehicle. The sides of the luggage receptacle proper are connected to the frame members 2 either by means of sheet metal plates 4 or by extending the sides themselves, or the luggage receptacle may, as shown in Fig. 2, be formed integral with the vehicle body, the back of the 'rear seat 6 preferably being recessed to increase the width of the receptacle and the inner side 7 of the receptacle being formed of a sheet metal plate secured to the vehicle body.
