Abstract

301,713. Wells, A. R. June 16, 1928. Nails.-A nail for fixing wall boards, carpets, &c. to woodwork &c. is stamped from sheet metal blanks and has at least two shanks, connected by a head of the same thickness and square to the shanks, the ends of the shanks being bevelled on the insides, Fig. 11, so that the shanks diverge, or on the outsides, Figs. 14 and 15, so that the shanks converge, when driven into the wood &c. As shown in Fig. 14, the head is shaped at the ends so that when driven the head lies flat as shown in Fig. 15. The shanks may be barbed or serrated as shown in Fig. 19.
