Abstract

Doubling-machines with twisting- arrangements at delivery; spindle apparatus; stop-motions.-In doubling and similar machines of the kind wherein the yarns to be doubled receive a preliminary twisting together before passing through nip rollers to the, doubling spindles, a stop-motion is employed in conjunction with each pair or group of creel pegs carried on a rotary platform. Each yarn supports a light lever 22, Fig. 2, pivoted in an inclined peg 18 extending from the head 11<a> of the delivery spindle so that, upon breakage, the lever will be moved out of the slot 24 and will contact with a member and thus stop the spindle, or, when the supply bobbins are flanged and the yarn drawn off laterally, each yarn supports an arm 26 with a screwed stem 18a which, upon breakage, tends to rotate and runs through the nut 25 until the end 28 contacts with and actuates a member to stop the spindle.
