Cables with auxiliary conductors; cables with identifying coverings. - In sheathed cables of the type comprising insulated wires and an earthing wire, the earthing wire is laid outside the cable sheathing and is held in position by a casing strip covering, or partly covering, the wire. In the form shown in Fig. 2, conductors a are covered with insulating sheathing b, on the outside of which lies an earth wire c positioned by a covering d. The covering d preferably extends from the positive lead of the cable and is made distinctive in colour. In the construction shown in Fig. 5, the earth wine c is worked in the sheathing of the cable, in the depression between the coverings of the conductors.
