Abstract
300,627. Koninklijke Vereenigde Tapijtfabrieken. Nov. 18, 1927, [Convention date]. Change-box motions.-Double woven carpets &c., which can be used on both sides, are woven at the margins with separate fabrics forming split edges extending over the whole width of the fabric, these being folded inwardly and secured by sewing, as shown by Figs. 1 and 2 forming a seam which is almost invisible. Pattern mechanism for use in weaving the fabrics is described comprising two roller chains 17, 20, Fig. 4, on sleeves 11, 12 on a shaft 10. Each roller chain comprises two sets of rollers, the rollers 18, 19 controlling the shedding of the binding warps, and the rollers 21, 22 controlling the shuttle changing. When weaving the body of the carpet, the rollers 18, 21 are in operative position. When it is desired to weave the split portions, the sprocket sleeves are moved to bring the rollers 19 and 22 into operative position.
