Abstract

Tentering. - The top plate b of a tentering clip has an unbroken operative surface above which is the slotted arm f of a lever, the other cam arm f<3> of which coacts with a rollar carried by the pivoted jaw c. When the cloth is withdrawn from between the arm f and feeler g<2>, the arm f<3> releases the jaw c which then grips the edge of the cloth. The feeler g<2> may be mounted on the pivot d or the pivot f<4>, or may be pivoted to the jaw c and also carry the roller c<2>, as shown in Fig. 4.
