Abstract
300,303. Mitchell, H. C. Aug. 10, 1927. Coated paper; paper for writing upon with hard substances.-Paper which is particularly suited for the production by hand of shop window or price tickets, but is applicable also for other purposes comprises a paper base on which is applied a coating or deposit of such a nature that it may be removed with a clean fracture by a dry writing pen, pencil, or style. A paper waxed or paraffined on one side may be used as a base and to the waxed surface a coloured coating of shellac dissolved in methylated spirit and containing any colour or dye soluble in the methylated spirit. The operation of writing removes the coloured shellac layer and exposes a design of white waxed paper. The writing &c. may be fixed by warming in front of a fire. The colour or dye may be in the paper itself. Other surfaces such as cardboard may be used.
