Abstract

Couplings; fusible cut-outs.-For connecting batteries in series couplings are arranged along the top edges of a box and consist of two bent metal strips d, e connected together by tags d'. The terminals b<1>, b<2> of the batteries are pressed down between the strips. Additional bent and apertured metal members h may be inserted between the strips d, e for engagement by wander plugs. The members d, e may be made from a single piece of metal j of the form shown in Fig. 8. This is bent longitudinally to form a trough and the ends bent round at the notches k, k<1>. The free ends are then clipped together. The blank j may be formed with an apertured projection k<3> for a wander plug. Fig. 14 shows a modified form of plug socket for attachment to the coupling. The socket m<3> is formed in one with a saddle-shaped member m<2> which fits over both portions of the connector and is connected by a strip m<1> to a second saddle-shaped piece m fitting over one member of the connector. In series with the battery is a lamp y serving as a fuse. The lamp is supported in an aperture in a carrier f, Fig. 4, which is provided with terminals f <2>, f<3> which engage the connectors d, e in the same manner as the battery terminals.
