Bearings.-In means for adjusting the bearings of the levers of weighing machines, the bearing block is secured to a rod mounted within and capable of being loosely attached to a sleeve having an externally-threaded periphery cooperating with a corresponding tapped hole in the bearing-block support whereby an adjustment of the sleeve effects a corresponding adjustment of the bearing block, means preferably being provided for facilitating the adjustment of the sleeve. In Fig. 1, the arrangement is shown applied to one of the legs 6 of a platform-supporting frame. The bearing block 5 is secured to a rod 7 passing freely through a sleeve 8 screwing into the lug 6. Before placing the platform on its frame the bearing block 5 may be adjusted by screwing the sleeve 8 up or down by means of a knurled head 8<b> or by a key applied to a slot at the top of the sleeve. A lock-nut 9 secures the sleeve after adjustment. A pin 10 prevents the rod 7 from falling out of the sleeve. In Fig. 4, the arrangement is shown applied to a swinging shackle 11 for supporting one of the fulcrum bearings of the lever system.
