Abstract

Signs. - In signs of the type in which symbols sunk in a glass plate are alternately or simultaneously illuminated d bv a number of differently coloured sources of electric light which are automatically lit and extinguished, the light sources being located at the edge of the plate so that the light passes through the body of the glass and is screened from directly reaching the outside of the plate, the symbols are formed with sloping edges. The plate 8 is backed by a screen 3, preferably black, held in place by ribs 2. Clamps 4 secure strips 5 of coloured glass, or lamps having coloured bulbs may be employed. A plate 8 may be provided on each side of the screen 3 to form a double-faced sign.
