Abstract
294,513. Equipto, Ltd., and Hartman, F. April 25, 1927. Feeding webs.-In a device for printing on and moistening gummed paper or the like as unwound from a roll A, the roll is mounted in pivoted arms 15 and rests by gravity on the printing-roller 1 supplied with ink from an adjustable container 5 by a wick 6 and a roller 4, which may be used with distributing-rollers also. The roll A mounted on a spindle 16 secured to one of a pair of arms 15 which are laterally adjustable on a shaft 18, detachably mounted in the frame 3 by means of screws 20 with projections engaging central apertures in the shaft 18; or the apertures may be in the screws and the projections on the shaft. The arms 15 are secured by screws 17 to the shaft 18. One of the arms 15 is formed with a slot 26, and is secured over a groove 21, Fig. 3, in the shaft 16 after the roll A has been placed on the shaft 16. The arms 15 are adjusted apart in accordance with the width of the roll. Collars on the shaft 16 may replace the grooves 21. The sides of the roll are engaged by side guides 22 which can be adjusted to correspond to the width of the roll.
