Abstract

293,351. Star Contrapropeller, Ltd. Aktieselskabet. July 4, 1927, [Convention date]. Rudders; propeller guards.-For directing the flow of water to and from the screw propeller a, horizontal guide vanes b, b1, are arranged at the after end of the ship in front of the propeller. and vertical vanes c, c1 slightly twisted of opposite hand are used behind the propeller such vanes being united and hung to constitute a cut-water balanced rudder. The horizontal vanes also tend to prevent pitching. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the provision of the vertical vanes separate from the rudder. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
