Abstract

293,240. Kimber, A. W., and Westlake, K. G. Oct. 6, 1927. Holders.-A cord or like gripping device shown as applied to an electric lamp holder comprises two half-cone members c slidably mounted within a coned fitting A on spring arms s which urge the members c towards each other to grip the flexible leads F. When the weight of the holders &c. is taken by the leads, the members c are moved upwards into contact with the inner coned surface of member A, so increasing their grip on the leads. To release the leads, members c are depressed to the position shown, and the spring arms are forced apart by suitable means. For example, the usual bayonet-joint member of the holder (not shown) may be removed, and reversed, and then pressed into fitting A against the inner surfaces of the spring arms.
