Abstract

293,221. Hughes, E. S. B. Mackenzie-. Aug. 16, 1927. Chairs, securing to sleepers.-Chairs 4 seated in recesses 3 formed on top of a pressed-steel channel sleeper 1 are secured by shrunk-on metal straps 5 with free ends bent around and behind the edges 6 of the sleeper. The straps may be integral with or separate from the chairs. With chairs having one or both jaws 8 secured by bolts 9, a recess 10 is formed at each bolt 9 in the seat 3. The straps may seat in depression in the sides of the sleeper.
