Abstract
292,505. Junkers, H. June 20, 1927, [Convention date]. Hydraulic transmission of power.-A coupling comprising a gear wheel or other rotary pump has two oppositely-opening valves disposed between the suction and discharge chambers of the pump, the load on the valves determining the torque capable of being transmitted for either direction of rotation. Storage chambers may be provided. In the form shown in Fig. 1, for engine starting-gear, one valve 20 is adjustably loaded, and the other valve 16 is unloaded so that a free-wheel effect is obtained. In another form, both valves 31, 32, Fig. 4, are loaded, and unloaded valves 33, 34 are also provided for keeping the storage chamber 12<1> free of pressure.
