291,086. Sulzer FrÞres Soc. Anon. May 28, 1927, [Convention date]. Cylinders, pipes and ports for.-The exhaust outlet of a two-stroke engine is divided into two or more ports or groups of ports 10, 11, the upper of which is fitted with a valve such as 12 for controlling the discharge of the exahust gases. The air-inlet ports 5, 6 are similarly divided, the upper ports 6 being controlled by a valve 7. A check valve 30 prevents admission of exhaust gases to the air pipe 4 if the valve 12 should fail to open in time. The upper ports 6, 10 may be connected to separate pipes 9, 14.
