Single-rail and suspended vehicles.-In order to enable torpedo - shaped suspended railway vehicles for high speeds to be formed into trains, one or both ends of each vehicle is removable so that the vehicles can be arranged close behind one another, the abutting ends being of substantially equal crosssection. In forming a train of vehicles, driven by air-propellers, as in Fig. 1, the rear pointed end 27, Fig. 3, which is secured to the propeller shaft 43 by a bolt 45 is removed from the three forward vehicles 12 - - 14 and the nose of each of the three rear vehicles 11 - - 13. shown as sectors 26<a>, 26b, Fig. 4, is turned back as shown in full lines to shorten the overall length of the train. Couplings 15 - - 17 connect the vehicles and relative side swaying of the vehicles is prevented by means of a tongue 56, Fig. 6, on an extension of the propeller nut on one vehicle engaging between two spring supported plates 57<a>, 57b on the opposing vehicle, the extension of the nut or of the shaft 43 running in bearings 62 in the tongue. Instead of a tongue for aligning the vehicles a recess may be formed in one or both ends of a vehicle, not driven by an air propeller, into which the pointed end of an opposing vehicle enters.
