Tripod stands.-In a folding leg, for photographic &c. tripod stands, of the type comprising a number of elements of channel section jointed together so as to fold within one element, the joints between the elements each consist of a transverse pin 8, carried by the larger element, engaging slots 9 in the side flanges of the smaller element, the slots being inclined relative to the longitudinal axis of the element. The arrangement is such that the elements are freely hinged or locked together according to the position of the pin 8 within the slots 9. For additional security the elements may be provided with interengaging hooks 10 and recesses 11 as shown in Fig. 2, or with interengaging pins 13 and slots 12 as shown in Fig. 3.
