Abstract
287,927. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Alexanderson, E. F. W.). March 30, 1927, [Convention date]. Thermionic generators; keying systems. - A generator particularly for ultra-high frequency comprises two or more parallel connected sets of thermionic generators each consisting of a pair of push-pull connected valves. The Figure shows two pairs of valves 5, 6 and 17, 18 respectively, the filament current is supplied through transformer 27 and the anode circuits are supplied from terminals 1, the anodes being earthed. The filaments 7, 8 are interconnected by the inductive circuit 9 and the grids by the oscillatory circuit 13, 14. To maintain a comparatively low voltage on the anodes while the valve is active, a reactor 29 is conectned in the anode supply circuit. The grids 11, 12 are connected to the cathode circuit through a key 31 and a grid bias element 32, and simultaneous control of the two generators is effected by the master key 36. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), each oscillator supplies current to a separate antenna instead of as shown to a common antenna 2.
