Abstract
287,658. Baxendale, J., and Hughes & Treleaven, Ltd. Jan. 11, 1927. Roller mills. - In roller mills for grinding or mixing, paints, inks or other mixtures of solid and liquid materials the sides of the rollers are kept moist by the addition of liquid or of a moist mixture, distinct from the normal supply of the batch of material under treatment. The mixture may be similar to the main batch but of less solid content. In the apparatus shown which is of the three roller type a hopper or container 1 supported by stays 6 discharges the liquid or moist mixture by means of pipes leading to the sides of the middle roller 3, the pipes being controlled by valves 4, 5.
