Abstract

287,451. Horning, F. March 19, 1927, [Convention date]. Aerating and treating land and soil with steam and heat.-Apparatus for warming the ground or soil consists of a system of approximately parallel pipes permeable to liquid, and means for delivering a controllable supply of steam to the pipes at uniform intervals in such a way that the steam always flows in the same direction in them. Air may also be blown into the pipes. The pipes b may fcrm closed conduits as shown and the steam mav be supplied through a single pipe a provided with nozzles c arranged alternately on opposite sides, or through two pipes at the ends of the pipes b. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes a modification in which a continuous open-ended serpentine heating-pipe and three steam-supply pipes are used. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
