Wood, treating with liquids; proofing-compositions.-Wood, timber, or other materials to be preserved, after treatment with an aqueous solution of a dichromate and a soluble copper salt acidified with acetic acid according to the parent Specification, is subjected to the direct action of steam, say saturated steam at atmospheric pressure, the solution being first run off. The steam forms and deposits in the wood &c. the insoluble basic salt, copper chromate.
