Abstract

286,020. Dawe, A. L. Dec. 8, 1926 Calendering. - In the calenders of paper machines, finishing rollers 17 are provided mounted on the ends 16 of supporting levers 15. The rollers 17 are driven at a different circumferential speed from that of the calenders 12 through chain gear and shafts 28 passing through the fulcrums of the levers 15, each roller 17 being driven by a separate motor. The pressure of the rolls 17 on the calender rolls is adjusted by worm gear operated by hand wheels 26.
