Abstract
285,681. Smith, W. Prince-, and Waterhouse, D. April 9, 1927. Rollers and roller heads.-In spinning, twisting, and like machines each roller stand A is adjustably connected to a separate foot B secured to the usual continuous beam C, and a separate continuous rail E for supporting the intermediate partition stands is secured to the lower ends of the roller stands; the base of the middle carrier stand G is arched or raised to straddle the bases of the outer carrier stands H so as to allow them to be closely adjusted as shown, and the bases of all three carrier stands are extended rearwardly to provide a rigid bearing. The foot B is slotted horizontally and a lug A<1> of the stand A is slotted vertically, and the two are secured together by a bolt D engaging the slots, the weight of the stand being taken by a bolt A' adjustable in the stand and bearing on the rear upper surface of the foot and by a bolt B<2> adjustable in the foot and bearing on the forward lower surface of the stand.
