Athletic boots and shoes; sandals; soles; socks. -Weighted foot gear for use in exercising the legs are provided with supplementary soles or socks of flexible material with which heavy metal powder or granules are incorporated. For example, a sandal, Fig. 1, is provided with a heavy sole b below an outer sole a, the sole b consisting of a mixture of rubber and powdered lead. The soles a and b may be cemented or formed together. In a modification, the additional sole is inserted between the inner and outer soles. In order to accustom the user to weighted footwear, socks b, b<1>, Fig. 4, of different thicknesses, or additional socks, may be used. Metal powder or shavings may also be incorporated with materials such as felt or artificial leather for the above purposes.
