Endless chain and like carriers, apparatus with; reel and endless web apparatus; optical-projection apparatus, applications of. - A slidechanging device for optical-projection comprises a chain &c. fitted with radial transparency carriers 3 mounted on brackets arranged alternately on opposite link cheeks. Means, comprising a spring-pressed cam 23 on the upper sprocket wheel 4 engaging a fixed cam 24, are provided for displaying alternate carriers to bring them into focus. The lower chain-driving sprocket 5 is intermittently moved by a continuously rotating disc 7 fitted with operating pins 8, 9, 10 arranged round part of its circumference, the leading pin extending sufficiently far out to engage all the teeth of a pinion wheel 13 but the remaining pins engaging only certain teeth of the pinion which are made broader along a sector. A Geneva stop 19 is driven b the pinion 13, and a pawl and ratchet brake is provided. Adjustable chain-tensioning rollers 27 may be provided.
