Abstract

282,572. Hall, H. C. Feb. 15, 1927. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Air tubes and chambers. - Pneumatic tyres have the valves mounted so as not to pass through the rim in order to obviate the damage to tyres due to a deep and yet present a substantially flush outer surface. The inner tube is clamped between a mushroom head q and a grooved washer s by a left hand thread connection and the valve stem d screws by a right hand thread into themushroom head. The valve stem has also a mushroom head j with a ribbed projection k engaging a disked washer o which presses into the outer surface of the outer cover, and an indiarubber tube w is interposed in the hole through the outer cover. The valve stem carries the spring valve a and is closed by a plug h.
