Abstract
282,337. Patten, J. C. Dec. 20, 1926, [Convention date]. Drawings to Specification. Moulding tyres. - Tyre moulds are electroplated with chromium. The recessed parts are plated first, the parts nearest the anode being blocked off during this stage ; the blocking off material is then removed and the plating continued. Chromium surfaced moulds are not affected bv vulcanization. The vulcanized tyres are easily removed therefrom, the use of lubricants being unnecessary. Tyre moulds made wholly of chromium or of a cobalt chromium alloy are referred to.
