281,440. Goldstone, M. H., and Webb, A. W. Oct. 20, 1926. Bowden and like mechanism.- Coiled wire casings of flexible transmission mechanism are protected by a continuous cover of rubber and/or bituminous material applied by forcing or squirting to the coils direct or after braiding. A fibrous or textile material or body may be incorporated in the covering. The rubber and covering may be enclosed by braiding which may be applied before or after vulcanization. Fig. 4 shows a form comprising two layers b, b<1> of rubber with an indeterminate layer c of braiding. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 4228/03 and 21784/03.
