Abstract
279,290. A.M.A.C., Ltd., and Sanderson, E. P. Jan. 26, 1927. Spray carburettors. - The side of the float chamber 2 is provided with a boss 3 which is bored to form a well 4 against the bottom of which bears a shoulder of a pilot or slow-running nozzle 5 fed through a duct 6. A plug 7, screwed into the well, extends below the top of the nozzle and, by bearing against a ring-shaped portion 9, serves to secure, adjustably, the float chamber 2 and throttle chamber 8. The plug is bored axially at 12 to provide a mixture outlet to the duct 15, and also at 16 to provide a parallel duct for the inlet of air. If the carburettor is tlooded, fuel collects in the well and provides a rich mixture for starting. The upper end 19 of the plug may be formed as a spanner or key for the removal of the jet or some other part.. The invention is not restricted to the slow-running nozzle.
