Abstract
278,255. Armstrong, J. J., V., (Union Special Machine Co.). March 24, 1927. Seams.-In uniting two sections of fabric, particularly knitted fabric, the sections 1, 2 are placed face to face and stitched together by stitches 6, preferably formed with overedge loops 7, 8, a fold 5 being made in one of the fabric sections. The sewn edge 10, 11 is then folded down upon the fold 5, which is doubled as shown at 12, Fig. 5, and a line of stitches 13, preferably in conjunction with overedge loops 14, is passed through the edge portions 10, 11 and the edge of the fold 12. When the portions 1, 2 are extended in one plane, as shown at Fig. 6, the stitches 6, 13 do not appear on the lower face of the fabric.
