Abstract

276,670. Lorm³ller, B. Aug. 25, 1926, [Convention date]. Controlling different functions by same lever.- Operating mechanism for the brakes of power driven and other vehicles comprises two members coupled together by a ratchet or other device whereby the brakes may be brought into the applied position by one of the members, which may be the clutch pedal, and the pressure be then applied by the other member without the movement necessary to bring the brakes to the applied position. The clutch pedal lever 1 has a pin-andslot connection with a toothed sector 6 which is connected to the brakes by the rod 10. A second pedal lever 2 is connected to an arm 9 which carries a pawl 7 engaging the ratchet teeth of the sector 6. Thus the brakes having been applied by the clutch pedal 1, the effective pressure may be applied to them by the pedal 2 without further movement thereof than is necessary to apply the pressure.
