Massage.-A massage appliance comprises elastic cylindrical or spherical bodies formed with projections arranged in pairs and of such cross-section that, when rolled over the flesh in use, they spread apart and so stretch the skin. In the form shown in Fig. 3 a series of elastic rollers a<1>, a<2> is mounted on an elastic or yielding spindle b fitted with handles d. The central roller is plain, the end rollers a<2> have ridges arranged in pairs extending in both longitudinal and transverse directions, and the intermediate rollers a' have only circumferential ridges c of the shape shown in cross section in Fig. 2. The ends of the rollers a<1>, a<2> are formed as cups and balls, and the central bores are enlarged at each end, so as to permit the device as a whole to conform to the curves of the figure. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) refers also to projections in the form of fingers arranged in groups of three or more. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted..
