Wire strainers.- The winding drum 2, mounted in bearings in a U-shaped frame 4, is made of cranked formation, Fig. 3, or is slotted to slide u p o n a squared spindle 2, Fig. 4, so that there is a position in each revolution in which the drum will be held against unwinding by the tension on the wire and without holding devices.
