Abstract

273,977. Craft, J. G. Jan. 21, 1927. Rails and tracks.-Relates to electrically-operated track switches for model railways of the type wherein each rail of the track 3 has a movable section 6, 7 and both movable sections are operated by an armature 18 that extends transversely beneath them and is disposed between solenoids 14 situated one on either side of the track, and consists in that the armature is disposed between the rails and a base 12 on which the rails are mounted and has upstanding end-pieces 20 influenced by the solenoids which are also mounted on the base. The armature is slidable on the base and is guided by lugs 19. The movable railsections are connected together and pivoted at one end to a sleeper 11 and at the other to the armature. A two-point switch 25 is included in the circuit of the solenoids for the purpose of reversing the current and thereby operating the track switch.
