Abstract

272,580. Imray, O. Y., (I.G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.). March 9, 1926, Monoazo dyes giving yellowish-red tints and lakes which are of great fastness to light are obtained by combining a 3-nitro-4-diazo-1-phenolalkyl ether with an acetoacetic anilide in which there is either an alkyl group in the o-position to the amino-group, or an alkyloxy-group in the p. position. In examples the ethyl ether is coupled with acetoacetic-o-toluidide and panisidide, and the methyl ether with the otoluidide, asym-m-xylidide and 2-chlor-4-anisidide. Acetoacetic-p-phenetidide is also mentioned as a coupling component. Acetoacetic-2-chlor-4-anisidide is obtained by condensing acetoacetic ester with 2-chlor-4- anisidine.
