Abstract
270,406. Courteen, H. Feb. 8, 1926. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Presses.-In a press for neckties, ribbons, and the like, the article is wound on a sheet metal or other roller a supported by a frame b secured to the bottom of a casing c on to a wall or the like. A clamping plate a<4> hinged at a<3> is spring pressed towards the roller for engaging the end of a necktie &c. and pressure is applied to the article by means of a spring-pressed plate d hinged at d<1>. The upper part of the casing may be semi-circular in cross section at its uppar part c<2> with the front part hinged, as shown. In a modification, the roller is adapted to be wound up by a spring, and a band of flexible material secured to the periphery of the roller and preferably longer than the necktie &c. is wound up with the article. The strip is provided with a handle so that the roller may be rotated against its spring for putting the article in position. The handle also forms a stop to prevent over-running. The roller may be provided with a braking device.
