Abstract

270,180. Brown, F. B. Dec. 3, 1926. Valves.-In order to prevent oil from entering between the valve stem and guide, a hood E is fitted to the stem so as to extend over the end of the guide D. The hood is formed with a seating which is pressed on to a corresponding seating a<1> on the valve stem by a spring e, or by screwing the hood or a nut on the stem.
